Auburn workshop focus is campylobacter isolation



AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn University's Poultry Science Department will conduct a four-day workshop May 21-24 here on campylobacter isolation and identification.

In addition to providing food microbiologists with hands-on experience with the most successful techniques to isolate and identify campylobacter from foods, participants will learn the basics of molecular techniques used for rapid identification and characterization of campylobacter strains for epidemiological purposes.

At the end of the workshop, participants will also be able to set up a food microbiological laboratory for the isolation and identification of campylobacter from foods.
