Seminar to focus on energy savings in rendering



TUCKER, Ga. -- The 2009 Poultry Protein & Fat Seminar will take an extensive look at energy efficiency in rendering plants. Sponsored by the Poultry Protein & Fat Council of U.S. Poultry & Egg Association, the conference will be held Oct. 8-9, at the Marriott Downtown in Atlanta, Ga. The annual seminar examines the latest technology and managing techniques in converting poultry by-products into valuable feed products.

"Now, more than ever it's important to learn about energy saving opportunities to increase our bottom-line, and we can all benefit from new insights that will allow our plants to operate at peak performance," said committee chairman Kenneth Smithm of American Proteins. "In addition to looking at applicable cost saving methods and other topics vital to rendering management, the program will provide an inside view of one of the industry's newest plants via virtual tour," added Smith.

The agenda will include topics such as The Future of Rendering, Safety in Rendering Plants, A CEO's Perspective on the Importance of Rendering and Plant Operation Management Systems.
