Waste Management Symposium set for October



RALEIGH, N.C. -- The 2010 National Poultry and Animal Waste Management Symposium will be held Oct. 26-28 at the Sheraton Greensboro at Four Seasons in Greensboro, N.C.

Begun in 1988, the Poultry Waste Management Symposium provides information on the latest technology and research regarding byproducts from the production and processing of poultry.

The 2010 symposium will be held in cooperation with the North Carolina Animal and Poultry Waste Management Center and the National Livestock and Poultry Environmental Learning Center.

General session topics will discuss nutrient sustainability, Environmental Protection Agency regulations, carbon footprints, air emissions, antibiotics in animals and water and air quality.

Concurrent sessions will examine poultry production and animal production issues.

Other events include a trade show and an Environmental Facilities Tour.
